2007 Bronze Anvil for Feature Stories: SonoSite Inc.

EVC Group lead the public relations campaign for SonoSite, Inc’s [NASDAQ: SONO] launch of its MicroMaxx system, a point–of–care ultrasound tool.

The MicroMaxx system launch generated more than 50 stories in national business, local business, broadcast and imaging trade publications. Six months after the launch, sales of the MicroMaxx system contributed more than 40% of SonoSite’s total revenue.

As clinicians began using the MicroMaxx system they shared their enthusiasm for its unique capabilities with the company. SonoSite and EVC Group seized the opportunity to enlist SonoSite’s customers—cardiologists, hospitalists, anesthesiologists, and emergency physicians, among other medical specialties—to speak for the product’s unique value proposition in several venues. These included case studies created for the sales force, in interviews with news organizations such as PBS’ Nightly Business Report, and at a symposium on point–of–care ultrasound organized for more than 40 analysts, investors, and journalists.

The Public Relations Society of America recognized the stories attained by this effort with a Bronze Anvil for Feature Stories in 2007.

Since the MicroMaxx system launch, SonoSite retained EVC Group to draft and distribute a series of announcements and manage press relations for the launch of its next generation S–Series ultrasound tools.
